Mr. Rodney Monroe Pettit Sr of Bogata died Sun July 22 in Brentwood Terrace Nursing Home in Paris
Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday July 24 under the Pavilion of Woodland Cemetery with Rev Billy Daniels officiating. Wood Funeral Home of Bogata has charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends 6-7 pm Monday at the funeral home
Mr. Pettit was born Oct 11, 1933 in Red River Co Texas the son of Walter Monroe and Jimmie Earline Mathis Pettit. He graduated from Bogata High School in 1951, served two years in the U.S. Army 1954-1956, He was preceded in death by his father in 1981, a brother Dennis Pettit in 1989 and his mother in 2001. He is survived by his wife the former Linda Lou Norman of Bogata, one daughter Julie Ann Nicholson of Grand Prairie, a son Rodney Monroe Pettit Jr. of Paris, two granddaughters Sarah Nicholson and Skyanne Daniels, two sisters Brenda Fay Mykelbose of Arkansas and Linda Kay Pettit of Bogata, and a cousin Austin Pettit of Bogata
