Geneva Kennedy, 74 of Deport

Mrs. Geneva Carol Kennedy, age 74 of Deport and formerly of Lubbock, died at her home on July 21, 2016.  Graveside Services have been scheduled for 4:00pm on Sunday, July 24 in Cuthand Cemetery with Reverend Mark Simmons officiating.  The family will receive friends at Wood Funeral Homes, Deport from 2-3pm on Sunday before leaving for the Cemetery.

She was born in Denver City, TX, the daughter of Claude and Pearl Dozier Kennedy.  She was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Keith Byram in 1975; her brother, Sammy Kennedy; her son-in-law, Leroy Dill and her parents.

Survivors include her children:  Tony Byram of Bogata; Pam Dill of Bogata; Cindy Byram Gustin  and husband, Perry of Sumner; Ricky Byram of Paris; and Johnny Byram of Lubbock; brothers and sisters:  Herman Kennedy of Arlington; Sybil Moyer of Lubbock; Janie Cox of Grandbury; and Wylie Kennedy of Seagraves; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.

    Please accept my condolences about Geneva’s passing. I remember her as a sweet fun loving girl who I had the privilege to know. i enjoyed going to school with her, ride the same bus, and at times to tease and goof off with. She will be missed, but I know where she is now because of the faith she had.

    So sorry to hear about Geneva’s passing. I haven’t seen her in alot of years but have fond memories of when her, Bidge and Pam,Cindy,Ricky,and Johnny used to visit. Their Dad worked with mine and we visited alot when I was a kid. She was always a nice woman with a beautiful smile and it always felt good to be around her! Her family are in my prayers!
