Willie Mae Topping, 97 of Lufkin and Formerly of Bogata

TOPP;INGMrs. Willie Mae Frances Topping, age 97 of Lufkin and formerly of Bogata died Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Southland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Lufkin. Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, February 4 at the First Baptist Church in Bogata with Rev. Bob Posey and Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating. Interment will be at Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from noon – 1pm.
Mrs. Topping was born October 27, 1917 the daughter of Thomas Marshall and Lou Tissue Williams Skidmore. She married John Clinton Topping on March 6, 1939. He preceded her in death July 21, 2001.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kay Selman and husband, Jerry of Lufkin and Linda Williams of Prattville, Alabama; two sons-in-law, James Watts and Bobby Lee Williams both of Bogata; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were two daughters, Wanda Lou Phipps on July 3, 1995 and Johnnie Mae Watts on October 19, 2000 and a son-in-law, Norris Phipps on June 20, 2003.

    I am late as usual with this stuff but this lady has taken care of me since I can remember! Living next to my grandmother she had a full dose of me I’m sure but she loved us all! Bobby John and Melissa and myself have made many a rail around that neighborhood! Sorry it took so long to post I love you guys!
