C.D. GLASS, 73 of Detroit

cdglass C.D. Glass, age 73 of Detroit, died on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Regency Nursing Home. Funeral Services are being held on Monday, September 8 at 10:00 am in the First Baptist Church of Bogata with Reverends Don Shovan, Doug Higdon and Chad Barnes speaking. Burial will follow in Bogata Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ray Lou Damron; Courtney Huddleston; Wayne Dillon; Charles Skaggs; Blake Barnes; and Paul David Glass. The family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30pm on Sunday evening at the Church in Bogata.

He was born on July 14, 1941 in Red River County, the son of Willie and Nora Perkins Glass. He married Ella Jane Lewis on July 29k, 1966. CD was a long-time Owner of Glass Auto Parts in Bogata and was employed by Skaggs Auto Parts prior to his illness. CD was an active member of the First Baptist Church and had served as music director for several churches in the area. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Glass on August 5, 1977 and his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Glass of the home; daughter, Jennifer Barnes and husband Chad of Woodville; son, Benjamin Glass and wife, Mollie of Detroit; his brother, Bobby Joe Glass and wife, Mary of Paris; 4 grandchildren: Blake Barnes, Josh Barnes, Elizabeth Barnes, Jenna Stephens; 3 great-grandchildren: Kaydence Stephens, Colton Stephens, and Charlee Grace Barnes; special sister and brother in law, Kay and G.R. Oney of Marshall.

    I would like to take this time to tell you how sorry I am of the loss of CD. Many of my best memories are of your family growing up in Bogata. I know the homecoming of CD and Michelle was a homecoming like no other. I will continue to pray for yall in the days to come.
