Harold Dean Leggett, 83 of Denison and Formerly of Bogata

deanleggettHarold Dean Leggett, 83 of Denison and formerly of Bogata, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Donna, Texas.  Funeral Services have been scheduled for Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 2:00pm in First United Methodist Church of Bogata with Ken Read speaking.  Pallbearers will be Bryce Cantwell, Matt Cantwell, Brad Cantwell, Kenneth Read, Cliff Adams and Chip Adams.

He was born in Fulbright, Texas on July 11, 1930, the son of Oscar W. and Agness Reynolds Leggett.  He was known as the scalawag of the neighborhood.  He married Gena D’Lene Rankin on April 18, 1952 in Bonham, Texas.  Mr. Leggett attended and graduated Bogata Schools before going to Texas Tech.  After Graduation, he joined the Air Force where he retired in 1974 as a Lt. Colonel.  He then went to Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant and received his teaching certificate and then taught Math in the Denison Schools for 10 years before fully retiring.

He is survived by his wife, Gena of Denison:  3 daughters, Patricia Lynn (George) Pederson of Ogden, UT, Catherine D’Lene Leggett of Denison, and Dena Kristi Read (Ken) of Centennial, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

    Very sorry to hear of his passing. I like to remember all the times playing cards and at the house, and even all the times when he had the boat on the lake. He often said that he had seen a lot in his lifetime and I mourn his passing.
