Jarrell Witherspoon, 80 of Pattonville

witherspoonMarcus Jarrell Witherspoon  age 80 of Pattonville died peacefully, Thursday, February 13 at his residence.  Chapel Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2015 at 11:00am at Wood Funeral Homes, Deport.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery with  John Hoover,  Randy Hoover,  Shane Morton ,  Joel Witherspoon, David McFadden, and  James T. Witherspoon serving as pallbearers.  The Family will gather an hour prior to services to receive friends.

Mr. Witherspoon was born Oct 25, 1933  in McCoy (Panola County) Texas  one of three children born to Martin M and  Gracie Tinkle Witherspoon. He graduated from Gary High School and Panola County Jr. College in Carthage. On Jan 29,1943 he married  the former Jimmie Bailey  in  Carthage   and celebrated 60 years of  marriage. Jarrell was in the Dairy Queen Business for many years and later became a staff and District Manager for American National Insurance Co .Upon retirement he moved to Pattonville where he enjoyed his garden, yard and all sports of TV.  In his younger years he was a good basketball player and a great golfer. He was a Christian and loved his Lord, his wife and children, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

Jarrrell was preceded in death by a son James, November 13, 2012,   his parents and a sister, Nelwyn. He is survived by his loving wife, Jimmie; his daughters, Jan Thompson and Jill Hoover and husband John; his son, Joel Witherspoon and wife Cyndi all of Pattonville. his daughter in law Patricia Witherspoon of Sherman and one sister; Elta Beherse and her husband Johnnie, 8 grandchildren, Shane Morton and wife Zarinska, Jackie Thompson and wife Lindsey, Jamie Witherspoon, Randy Hoover and wife Amanda, Malynda Thompson, Mandy Witherspoon, Lindsay and Cody Creighton and Rachel Witherspoon and 2 great grandchildren, Blake Hoover and Emmery Thompson; many great nieces and nephews; a special brother-in-law, Jim Bailey and wife Patty; two sisters-in-law, Faye Pecoraro and Yvonne Lang and husband Noel
