Lillian Taylor, 77

Lillian Ann Sanders Taylor, age 77, of Bogata left this world of pain to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at her residence.  A celebration of her life will be 2 PM, Saturday, July 27 at Lamar Avenue Church of Christ in Paris with Patrick Cannon and Harold Cowley officiating.  Interment will be at Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Homes.  The family will receive friends 8-9 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Lillian was born September 23, 1935 in Paris, Texas, the daughter of Sam Petus Sr. and Christine Stilwell Sanders.  She attended Paris schools and Paris Jr. College.

She was a member of the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ in Paris and enjoyed spending time with her friends in various clubs: coffee group, birthday group, and senior lunch and game day.

She married L. P. (Pete) Taylor in Paris on February 6, 1954, and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary next year.  From their union were born three children, Sherrie Lynn Boyd, Larry Paul Taylor and Misty Dawn Gage.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother.  She touched the lives of many students who passed through the doors of Rivercrest High School during her 24 years as secretary to the principal.

We know that she was greeted at the gates of heaven by her Lord Jesus Christ and was reunited with family members who went before her including her parents; brother Sam Sanders, Jr. and sister Betty Wise.

Lillian leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Pete; daughter, Sherrie; and son-in-law, Alan, of Paris; son, Larry; and daughter-in-law, Gail, of Bogata; daughter, Misty; and son-in-law, Clint of Paris; a brother, Mike Sanders and wife Elaine of Dallas, a brother-in-law, Hunter Wise of Trinidad; grandchildren; Lance Taylor, Lindsey Mayer and husband Josh; Shannon Boyd and wife Kristin; Allison Hanley and husband, Matt; Logan Taylor, Grayson Gage and two great grandsons, Lucas Mayer and Gavin Hanley.; and her precious Yorkie, Abby.

Lillian, what a blessing you have been. We will never forget all of the kind things you have done for our family. You are such a sweet soul and that laugh, well, it is very contagious. When Momma died you said that losing a close friend was new to you. You were so sweet, considerate, and concerned during that rough time. We felt your love and we still do. Thank you will never be enough. We love you sweet lady. We pray that God provides comfort to your family during this difficult time for them.
